Introducing forest culture for uncultivable land in district Tando M Khan
The specific objectives of the project are;
? To establish forest on one hundred fifty acres for demonstraton purpose by the end of project in Taluka T M Khan
? To Mobilize stakeholders partculray forest department and big land owners forforestation in district Tando Muhammad Khan

? Description of the proposed activities

Activities to be carried out under project:
? Mobilize and sensitize the local community on forestation
? Realize the communities of the efficacy of joint forums and organized platforms
? Formation of CO?s with 50 percent female participation
? Training of CO?s on tree plantation
? Introduction of solar tube well in T.M Khan forests
? Involve communities to plant different trees collectively organizing days to plan the trees in forest
? Leveling 150 acres of land to prepare for tree plantation
? Distribution of 11000 saplings to communities for plantation
? Plantation of tree saplings on 150 acres
? Desilting of water courses
? MoU with Forestry department for technical support
? Awareness meeting with big land lords for forest cultivation
? Organize 3 events of awareness and forest management workshops for the local communities and forest personnel
? Organize dialogues with concerned functionaries to ban the cutting of trees from the forest
? Exposure visit of Media in the field
? One District level seminar on Land Degradation and Sustainable Forest Management
? Media campaign to raise general awarenes

Anticipated Results

The 2000 Women, children and men of the several villages who are living at surroundings of this forest will be direct beneficiaries. Excluding this project activities will also help to make the land cultivatable which has degraded and environment of surroundings of these villages will also be made friendly. It will also give protection to so many animals and birds that are yet living with out shelter and protection.

Farmer who has been deprived from the fertile land will see ray of hope to grow land again. It will also save the time of women who goes for collecting fodder for their animals or cattle?s as they can use their saved time in domestic income generative activities like embroidery etc. Project activities will encourage the children to grow the trees in their land or surrounding their Schools and villages.

It will meet climate change objective (emission reduction commitment) of the negotiations leading up to the Kyoto Protocol Villagers of these villages will be organized and enhance their capacity in saving trees and also their links with line department will be made strength.
