Current significance of reinforcing the river Alazani's riverbank was identified at the community meeting held on October 31, 2011, which then was reaffirmed at the community meeting on September 15, 2013, where the project proposal and the budget was reviewed. More than 50% of the attending population expressed their support to the project. Members of the non-profit organization Jokolo XXI will elaborate an action plan for the people involved in the project. There will be three teams formed, and they will be working in turn to address the issues where the non-skills labor force is needed. Gabion location and configuration was also reviewed at the meeting, which is approved by the Gamgeoba of Akhmeta Municipality. Respective documents are enclosed.

Involvement of 220 households in teh village Jokolo (1,060 people, among them 653 women) in the international water management directions. Experience gained by the members of the non-profit organization Jokolo XXI (27 members, among them 12 women) after the project implementation.

Local residents who had abandoned agricultural land, in the future this land will become a source of income. Planted trees across the gabions, will strengthen dams over the years and contribute to the restoration of green cover. Increased community mobilization level is the basis for solving community problems.

Members of the non-profit organization Jokolo XXI have been actively involved in project preparation and studies performed during this period. They developed the project proposal, which is a certain condition for empowering the community organization. Besides, members of the community organization will be actively involved in project implementation. They will use the obtained knowledge and experience in further project management, and share their experience to other community members. Based on the experience gained in the future, they will be able to carry out other activities as well, as the community organization has already got the respective potential. Population of Jokolo community belongs to the ethnic minorities ? Muslims, who have different traditions and habits. Women?s rights are more limited than in other communities. The project will support to improve the economic situation of the population, by enabling them to have a maximum use of agricultural lands, which are now protected by gabions. Protected agricultural land makes the work opportunities accessible for the population, especially for the women, which is a precondition of gender balance from its side. 12 member women of the non-profit organization Jokolo XXI will be directly involved in project implementation (community meetings, writing reports).

There were some people selected in the community, who possessed relevant qualification and experience, and the project monitoring and evaluation plan was elaborated with them. During the project, the community members will actively be involved in the project activities, also in the monitoring of these activities. The community will be actively involved not only in the project implementation by making their contribution, but they will also participate in project evaluation and sustainability of results. The community members will maintain the young trees planted near the gabions, and protect them from animals and other hazards.
