Implementation Dragonfly Biotic Index (DBI) as a Tool Monitoring Climate Change in Water Resources Kalongan, Banyuwangi
GOAL
Introducing and developing methods Dragonfly Biotic Index (DBI) for use by the public as a means of monitoring Kalongan climate change and the environment through the dragonfly easy, cheap, and mass.
OBJECTIVES
Objective 1 : Preserving the dragonfly with the habitat in the water sources area
Indicators : 1. existing Dragonfly Biotic Index (DBI) to for monitoring of water sources Kalongan region, Banyuwangi.
2. The existence of three groups (groups of teachers, students, and community Pesucen village) who know and can apply the Dragonfly Biotic Index
3. PCBs 500 Dragonfly Biotic Index guide book that will be distributed to the three groups mentioned in the 2nd point as well as to government representatives and representatives of the city of Banyuwangi Banyuwangi BLH.
Activities : 1. Data Collection for dragonfly, sampling, data processing biotic and abiotic performed by IDS in the first month until the 7th
2. Mapping the area of water resource area (Mapping mapping biodiversity and local knowledge condition) performed by the IDS in the first month until the month of 7th
3. Introduction method to the Dragonfly Biotic Index performed over 6 times to 30 representatives from the village.
4. Preparation guidebook Dragonfly Biotic Index and Biodiversity Dragonflies Kalongan Banyuwangi.
Objective 2 : Developing and Preserving The Dragonfly biodiversity and the habitat in water sources in Kalongan
Indicators : 1. existence of information media such as the Fountain Plaque Location and information boards dragonfly diversity in sources of water Kalongan
2. There are two (2) school (elementary school and junior high school Pesucen Pesucen) around the village Kalongan Pesucen and one (1) school (SMA Negeri 2 Giri Banyuwangi) in the city of Banyuwangi is involved in the conservation of dragonflies.
3. Presence of dragonfly habitat restoration by planting various types of plants to
Activities : 1. 3 school mentoring (SD Negeri Pesucen, Pesucen SMP and SMA Negeri 2 Giri Banyuwangi) for conservation of dragonflies
a. Dragonfly learning in the classroom and on the field
b. Guidance for monitoring the involvement of dragonflies and water resource use in the DBI Kalongan, Bayuwangi
2. Dragonfly habitat restoration at the springs Kalongan
3. Replanting some plants (bamboo, banyan, mango, jackfruit, kedondong) to bring the diversity of dragonflies in spring Kalongan.
Objective 3 : Monitoring and Evaluation
Indicators : 1. There is a change in society activities in waters Kalongan like not cutting down a tree, do not wash in water activities.
2. Tree planting efforts for habitat restoration conducted independently by community
3. The existence of educational activities in waters Kalongan using DBI as teaching materials
4. The existence of a group of students from partner schools that continue dragonfly conservation
5. The policy relevant agencies to preserve Kalongan waters....
Actovities : 1. Do a check list dragonfly diversity data collection season after season I and II
2. Held a meeting with the community involved activities 4 times.
3. Create and distribute questionnaires regarding the overall activity before, during, and after the whole monitor the activities of the program ends.
EXPECTED OUTPUT
1. Increased public awareness of the importance of the benefits of dragonflies as indicators of environmental change.
2. Increasing references to dragonflies in Indonesia, especially East Java.
3. Passage of environmental education programs to improve children's knowledge-based society and dragonflies.
4. Maintained and the creation of a better environment for aquatic biodiversity dragonfly and also for human life.
