Enhancing food and environmental security through climate-smart post harvest technologies
This project will enhance food and environmental security through the use of climate-smart post-harvest technologies as scaling up strategy for the GEF SGP funded Community Forest Conservation Project MDA is currently implementing in the same community. This scaling up project will strengthen the ecological foundation of food security through achievement of sustainable food systems and also enhance the sustainability of the Community Forest Conservation Project. Implementation of these activities is necessary in order to sustain the huge success being achieved by MDA in its forest conservation project using livelihood activities which are mainly conservation agriculture (inland valley swamps rice cultivation, agro-forestry, fish farming and vegetable gardening as well as environmental education).
