Local community participation is actually through all implementation stages including planning, monitoring and follow ups. As local community ladies were involved in a mass introduction session of project idea and objectives followed by several meetings announcing the formation of project committee of 20 local ladies and involve them in setting project activities.

Project implemented in Al- Qwaira one of poverty pockets in Jordan, have a significant participation of indigenous people of Al- Qwaira whom called Al- Hwaitatt. Al- Hwaitatt still have the Bedouin lifestyle and have a population of 20.000 thousand (updated on 2014).

Raising awareness were represented in conducting several brainstorming for Qweira community ladies on gender, advocacy, role of women and main environmental concerns in Al Qweira. An awareness session by an environmental expert from JREDS (NHI) about environments and ecosystems. finally, the local ladies of the project committee visited JREDS offices in Aqaba (Jordan's' only coastal city) to benefit from their experience in marine conservation. A manual (will) be prepared and published in the end of project implementation about local community ladies' success stories in the field of environment.

The project itself is about empowering the women of Al- Qawira between the ages 20-45 environmentally to come-up with initiatives contributes in improvement the quality of life and offers solutions to the problems threatening the area environmentally. So, all project activities involves women.
