Solar Energy and Energy conservation for Domestic Use in Um Qais
As Jordan suffers from acute shortage of energy and water resources to meet with the growing needs of both population and development requirements, therefore this project aims to promote the use of solar heater in heating purposes instead of other non-renewable sources of energy in order to increase the livelihood of local community through saving money paid for energy bills and protect the nearby forests from logging at the same time.

CBO is located in Um Qais village in Irbid city nearby the new established reserve the " Yarmouk Natural Reserve" and they are implementing the project with the technical assistance of the reserve team on three different levels:

- Installation of 29 solar units at the household level
- Provide 20 households with energy saving pulps/ devices
- Raise awareness among local community

A local committee consisted of the CBO, Yarmouk Natural Reserve and members from the local community will be in charge of project implementation through its different stages, monitoring and evaluation, etc.
