This project aims to promote biodiversity conservation on Cova Paúl and Torre park lands, in Santo Antão Island, while implementing creative ways to sustain local community livelihoods. The project will collaborate with park authorities and the Delegation of the Ministry of Rural Development. It will use a 1.000 m3 water tank build by the Millennium Challenge Account initiative (MCA).
Several micro-nurseries will be constructed where fruit trees and other valued species will be produced. Endemic species will be as well produced and used on park reforestation activities. This project therefore will promote endemic species conservation, provide livelihood opportunities to local communities, and promote soil conservation.
