The project goal: Reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and expenses for electricity by introducing solar thermal water heating in a dormitory of Vidzovsky lyceum and school building thermorenovation .
Project tasks:
1. Install and launch set of solar thermal water heating unit for water treatment needs of the dormitory students Vidzu lyceum.
2. Perform thermorenovation of the academic building at Vidzu lyceum
3. Share project results with oblast secondary educational institutions and local authorities.
Expected results
1. Solar thermal water heating unit is installed and put into operations at Vidzu lyceum students? dormitory.Annually GHG emissions will be reduced at least by 2.6 tons through the introduction of energy-saving technologies and renewable energy sources. Emission reductions will occur as a result of savings of about 68,000 kWh of electricity, including:
? about 20 MW of electricity through the installation of solar thermal water heating, equivalent of 5.6 tons of equivalent fuel);
? about 14 MW of electricity from the station upgrading pre-treatment water;
? 30 Gcal. heat (6 tons of equivalent fuel), or about 34,000 kWh of electricity from the building thermorenovation college academic building
2. Thermorenovation of the academic building at Vidzu lyceum is accomplished ? 350 students of the lyceum improved educational conditions
3. NGO ?Center of Vidzu region Development? will increase its capacity to implement projects aimed at the prevention of climate change and creating the conditions for the implementation of local strategies for sustainable development. At least 8 local village and district administrations, as well as 12 school administrators Braslavsky, Sharkovshchina and Miory districts will increase its capacity to improve the conditions for sustainable development through familiarization with the experience of the introduction of energy saving technologies in the educational establishment Vidzu Lyceum
