Project Characteristics and Results
Notable Community Participation
Located in the village of Naneto Wayeto, this is a community initiated project with a main objective to conserve biodiversity in the village. The implementation is being led by a CBO formed by youths of the community.
Project sustainability
Project sustainability is going to depend on commitment in activities such as annual firebelt clearing and nursery attending. given that the CBO has been in the area since 1997 and has shown good track record in previous projects, it is anticipated that they would be able to continue motivating and inspiring the community to sustain the project.
The beekeeping component will be self sustaining given its non labor intensive nature and its economic benefits.
