Scale up of Ngong Energy Centre
This is a project to up-scale an already existing power project funded by UNIDO. The aim is to increase power production and supply to a girls rescue centre (against early mariages) amongst other beneficiaries.
The energy that would be produced from the scale up would be used to power facilities that were built after the energy centre was built due to UNIDO funding. The facilities would include a church, a girl's resuce centre and a local administration office. This would be done by increaseing solar power, wind power, replacing old batteries to those with double power storage. The power that is generated will also provide power to the pump from an upcoming borehole.

Gender Focus
A girl's resucue centre will be connected to the grid and women will be trained on business entrepreneurship.
There is a representation of women int eh CBO and thus they are invovled in the project development, decision making and planning. Women have 100% ownership and management of the proposed soap making project and other businesses.
Women will receive water closer to their households from the community reservoir tank and will therefore have less distance to retrieve water.
The immense benefits of women have inspired them to be greatly involved and participating in the up-scaling of the project
