General Objective: Improving the production of native rice through the recovery of 15 traditional varieties; Specific Objectives (i) reduce dependence on not native rice species, (ii) increase the availability of native species of rice produced; (iii) improve the financial autonomy of producers
Project Results: a) about 40 ancients teaches youngsters the traditionally construction of dikes and the reorganized of the communities of 4 villages (tabancas)to work together as they have done until de decade of 80 in rice fields (bolanhas), b) 20 bolanhas selected among the best in these 4 tabancas, c) 45 ha of bolanha are recovered with dike belt 2 meters high and 1.5 meters wide, d) A total of 2,100 kg of rice seed is bought and distributed (in that each farmer receives 7 kg per specie), f) Agricola materials are purchased and distributed to farmers, g) 20 farmers trained in production, harvesting and conservation of seeds of traditional rice species and sees its production increase about 10%, h) 20 kg seed of each species is stored in the second year, produced a total of 700 kg per each species native i ) a warehouse with the capacity to store 10 tons of rice and sale it is constructed and used successfully, i) 85% of the production of each of the 20 producers is purchased by the warehouse at price of 350 XOF / kg, l) The peeler rice is able to work 1500 kg of rice per hour, m) 90% of the purchased production of each producer is sold at 500 years XOF / kg, n) associates paid contributions on a value of 1,200,000 XOF per year used in the management of the warehouse, o) 7,005 kg of rice from surplus production by species are purchased by the warehouse value of 350 xof and sold at price of 500 XOF / kg, p) needs in rice does not exceed the rice prudction.
Project Principal Activities: a) build dikes traditional form, b) recover 45 hectares of bolanhas, c) acquire the material and plowing rice peeler, d) purchase seedlings and distribute them e) conduct a training session on modern technique of seed production, f) train beneficiaries in basic management and accounting applied to the management of rice production, g) create the warehouse sowing of rice farmers to buy, sell excess production to the producer and retail price below the market price
