Pesca Sustentavel no Rio Grande de Buba
General Objective: Promoting a sustainable fishing in Rio Grande de Buba
Specific Objectives: (i) replacement of monofilament nets for legal fishing gear, (ii) Empowering fishermen on traditional fishing rules and new fishing laws, (iii) training of fishermen's participation in monitoring of fishing in Rio Grande de Buba
Project Results: (i) 30 nets of monofilament burned in the first round of destruction of fishing nets (ii) 30 legal nets are distributed to the fishermen, (iii) 100% of the fishermen from the association know the PNLC?s rules of fishing and apply it, (iv) radio campaigns about the practice of fishing within the Park are held with the participation of the listeners, (v) Calendar surveillance missions accomplished, respected procedure oversight, reporting of missions available, (vi) information about the rules of fishing and status of fish stock is available in all vilages in the park through the dissemination of posters.
Project Principal Activities: (i) Destruction of 30 nets of monofilament, (ii) Delivery of 30 legal nets, (iii) Session information and clarification on rules of traditional fishing and PNLC in Rio Grande de Buba, (iv) Training for the fishery monitoring in Rio Grande de Buba, (v) Participation of fishermen in fisheries surveillance missions in the Rio Grande de Buba, (vi)Radio debate on the regulation of fishing, fishing gear, the situation of fish stocks in the Rio Grande de Buba, (vii) Use of the reimbursement of payment of legal nets to acquire more nets to others fishermen, (viii) Developing a poster with the existing fish species in the Rio Grande de Buba and his status(ix) Developing a poster about the rules of fishing
