The project is aiming at building capacity of 3 Community Forestry Committees to conserve more than 550 ha of Community Forest Areas through preparing 15 years Community Forestry Management Plans, produce 120 cement poles to demarcation Community Forestry areas in Chasor Tbong community forestry, Chub &Choam, construction of 5,000 meters x 4 meters of forest fire-road in Chasor Tbong community forestry, Chub &Choam with labor contribution from community members. In addition that one tree nursery size 20m x 30m will be set up for producing tree for selling and planting in 20 ha of degraded forest in Chasor Tbong community forestry, Chub &Choam. To build resilience livelihood of community members, project will be introduced Agroforestry demonstration sites (Pineapple demo site &Chinese Bamboo demo site) organized for technical demonstration for 90 families and 30families/15females Headed Household understand on technical of bee keeping. Access to marketing of pineapple, Chinese Bamboo products and honey will also support by this project.
Goal: By mid of 2014 three CFMCs in 558 ha (Chansor Tbong=78 ha, Choam=227 ha and Chub=203 ha) Chansor Commune Soutr Nikum District Siem Reap has capacity in sustainable management of forestry resource which contributed to the livelihood improvement of community members.

Objectives:

1. By mid of 2014 management plan of 3 communities forestry (Chasor Tbong, Chub &Choam) developed and recognized by Siem Reap FAC and some activities in management plan implemented.

2. By mid of 2014 income generation of 282fa,ilies/84females community forestry members in Chasor Tbong, Chub &Choam increased through agroforestry and bee keeping activities.

Outputs:

1. The 15 years management plan of the three Community Forestry (Chasor Tbong CF, Chub CF and Choam CF) developed with technical support and official recognized by Forestry Administration (FA).

2. 120 cement poles produced for demarcation of the 3 CF boundaries with support &recognition from FA.
3. 5000 meters x 5m of fire break road was constructed in Chasor Tbong Community Forestry, Chub &Choam with labour contribution from community members.
4. One tree nursery size 20m x 30m set up for producing tree for selling and planting in the 20 ha of degraded forest areas of Chasor Tbong Community Forestry, Chub &Choam restored by mid of 2014
5. More than 580 ha of CF forest areas is well protected through strengthening patrolling team
6. Agroforestry demonstration site (Pineapple demo site=1 &Chiness Bamboo demo site=1) organized for technical demonstration to 90 families.
7. 30 families/15 females understand on technical of bee keeping
8. By the end of 2013 pineapple, Chiness Bamboo planting and Bee Keeping communities will be able access to market for selling their products.

Project activities:

- Develop 15 years Community Forestry management plan of three Community Forestry
- Support CF committee members to get the 15 years CF management plan to get official recognition from Forestry Administration
- Implementation of some key activities list in CF management plan such as demarcation of 3 CF boundaries, construction of Fire break road and tree planting in 20 ha of degraded forest areas.
- Improving livelihood of community through agroforestry activities (Chinese bamboo and pineapple)
- Improving livelihood of community through bee keeping activities
- Mobilisation of contribution and participation from community and commune councils and technical departments to participating in project implementation and monitoring the progress.
