Conservation of water Sources through Capacity Building and Demonstration
Conservation of water Sources through Capacity Building and Demonstration
Problem Statement:

Kyela district has abundant supply of water bodies. Water bodies in Kyela include: Rivers, Lakes, Natural and man-made dams and streams. The most notable environment threats in the district are the degradation and pollution of water sources, which is attributable to human activities. Results are pathetic. Some water bodies are drying up due to siltation and degradation of catchment areas; fish stocks are dwindling and fishing activities for livelihood is seriously affected. Under the proposed project, local communities will be sensitized to refrain from practices that degrade the environment. Demonstration projects on rehabilitation of degraded lands will be supported to contribute to reducing the trend of degradation.
