Biodiversity Conversation and Community Development in Prey Veng province
This project has proposed to establish 3 community conservation areas which covered more than 1,000ha, aiming at increasing natural fish stock and protection of 165 ha of existing flooded forest by preparing CFi management plan which will help to improve the fish habitat, increase biodiversity in Community Fisheries areas. The project also provides education to communities to appreciate and protect natural resources which could lead to a decrease or end of illegal fishing. In addition to that the project will support seven Community Fisheries to get official recognition from Fisheries Administration (FiA) and Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) to manage and sustainable use of 28,761 ha of fishing ground.
