Reducing Climate Related Hazards by Upgrading the Physical Environment of a Primary School
In planning the full project, the PTA and RCEA will meet with stakeholders (parents, staff and surrounding communities) to perform a vulnerability risk assessment using the proposed methodologies (CVCA mixed with CRiSTAL). We will also do a workshop for sensitizing stakeholders about risks associated with climate change and about how climate change may impact our livelihoods as a SIDS. As part of the consultation, we will also validate the original project idea submitted at the concept note level and make modifications to the original concept based on feedback from the VRA. We will engage in technical consultations to finalize the plans for building the retaining walls and estimating the costs of materials and labour. Based on estimated costs, we will also identify the amount of co-financing that will be needed for the project (typically from RCEA and PTA). We will also check with relevant government departments for permits that may be required to implement the project.
