Practice of laser land leveling, ensuring the sustainability of ecosystems of irrigated lands in Aral
The project plans to purchase 12 sets of laser planners for the regions of Karakalpakstan: 2 set in each of the three areas where the UN Program works to ensure the livelihoods of people affected by the crisis of the Aral Sea - Shumanay, Muinak and Kanlikol, and 6 sets - for other areas of Karakalpakstan - Ellikkala, Amudarya, Turtkul, Chimbay. Khodjeyli and Kegeyli, one will be installed in every district.
It is expected that the use of this modern technology will be distributed to farmers of Karakalpakstan, and significantly reduce the use of available water resources. It is also planned to increase crop yields, leading to improve living conditions of the rural population.
