Energy efficient cooking stoves project
The project aims to conserve the environment, reduce poverty and create jobs for the youth and women. This goal will be achieved through this project by producing selling and promoting the use of highly energy efficient cooking stoves which will have direct impacts on reducing green house gas emissions and lowering the demands on fuel wood thus conserving the forest in the long run.The project also aims to train youth and women to take up the industry as venture in order to reduce unemployment and reduce poverty.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
A 4 (four) day training on metal stove production and repair was held for 11 male artisans.
A 4 (four) day training on pottery stove and stove liners was held for 14 females from the community.
Both skills are life long skills that can easily be replicated by other members of the community. It is envisage that these trainees and the acquired skills will remain in the community and the trainees will serve as resource people for the community.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
A group of male youths were trained on metal stove production and repairs whilst women groups who are the traditional potters in this community were trained on pottery stove and clay liner production. These skills are life long skills that the trainees can relay on for a source of livelihood long after the project ends.
