This project aims to tackle and combat soil erosion in Estância Roque, Fogo Island. The community is located inside Parque Natural do Fogo, in the municipality of Santa Catarina. The local population is quite poor and their main livelihood activities are agriculture and livestock.

The project´s main outputs are to reconstruct 40.000 of anti-erosion terraces, and build 400 m3 of dikes in appropriate and identified degraded lands. The initiative also encompasses organizing awareness raising activities regarding soil conservation, within the community with the collaboration of park authorities.
