Construção de Diques Argamassado
One of main problems in Achada Furna local community in Fogo Island is land degradation, consequently loss of topsoil. Given that the majority of locals rely on agriculture, the Associação Comunitária de Achada Furna, in partnership with Parque Natural do Fogo, applied for an SGP grant to tackle the issue. 350m3 of anti-erosion dikes will be constructed on community lands. These structures will be built by locals under the supervision of park officials.
