Combate à erosão
Combate à erosão
This project aims to address land degradation problems in Monte Tabor local community. Monte Tabor village is located on the north coast of the island of Fogo, where the influence of wind and torrential rains causes significant impacts on agriculture farm land, specifically loss of arable soil and organic matter.
To minimize this, the Association proposes coordinated interventions with respect to soil conservation, through mechanical and biological interventions, including building dikes, anti-erosion terraces, as well as planting fruit trees in sloping areas.
All interventions are done in close collaboration with the Delegation of the Ministry of Rural Development and Parque Natural do Fogo authority.
