National Crane Action Plan
"The aim of this project is to protect the population and habitats of the cranes (Grus grus) in Turkey by improving administrative tools and requirements. To do this, information gap for this species will be filled by making field research and by determining the current population and habitats and treats of the species. Either species action plans produced in Turkey and plans in other countries showed that the implementation success of these plans increases with participation of stakeholders in the process. Therefore, to ensure that whole stakeholders adopting and taking responsibility in the plans, ?National Crane Action Plan? will be prepared by active participation of the whole stakeholders. Also, in order to provide the required baseline for the implementation of the action plan, an active communication network will be established. To monitor the implementations, evaluate them and combat with possible problems, a Monitoring Committee for the National Crane Action Plan will be established by the representatives of state institutions and non-governmental organizations.
By using outputs and experiences gained during the project, and also by referring other national and international action plans a ?Species Conservation Action Plan Guidebook? will be prepared.
