Promotion of solar energy use for hot water supply of the local community in Akku settlement
Locals of remote districts favour the climate change effects by making a lot of emissions from fuel burning for heating. Environmental situation there become worse and hamper settlements? development much. Besides, absence of centralized hot-water supply causes many problems in living and farms managing. It fast decreasing of living scale and hamper development not only of farms, but also of communities in general. Use of alternative energy installations could help people stabilize the situation and force development of settlements and farms.
Project aim:
Demonstration of solar energy use possibilities for Talgar district?s local community hot water supply (on the examples of Almaty reserve and ?Talhiz? eco-club).
Project tasks:
- Install several demonstrational water-heating installations. Develop program on use of solar water heaters in Talgar district.
- Increase awareness of Talgar city and local settlements around on advantages of solar water heaters use. Demonstrate possibilities of solar water heaters as a measure to prevent climate change and increasing locals? living scale.
Project results:
- Employees of Almaty reserve (40 people) got possibility to use hot water from solar water heating in office. Reserve?s visitors (more than 3000 people a year) got possibility familiarize with demonstrational installation in reserve which attract their attention to possibility of solar water heaters use at home or in summer cottage.
- Members of ecoclub and seminars participants (more than 100 people) had possibility to familiarize with demonstrational installation and got information on getting and installation of solar heaters
- Population of Talgar district (more than 30 thousand people) informed on economical advantages of solar heaters and its importance in climate change control via mass media
- Increased income of local population (5-10 families) from costs decreasing on hot water supply
- Introduction of solar water heaters aids saving clear atmospheric air and climate of Zailisky Alatau in general and sustainable development of local settlements
- Increased living scale and health of local community from better environment and decreasing costs for traditional water heating
