CREATION OF POMOLOGICAL FRUIT GARDEN IN VILLAGE ULLA AND PROTECTION OF EROSION THREATENED LANDS.
The main purpose of the project is to improve the efficiency and prevention of land degradation, preventing the dispersal of dangerous invasive species - the giant hogweed Sosnowski; instilling in students, future professionals in agricultural production, respect for the land.
To achieve the objectives of the Project following tasks need to be accomplished:
1. Create the apple orchard on the environmental area of 5 acres near the village Ulla Beshenkovichi district, Vitebsk region.
As part of this task will be performed the following activities:
- To carry out cleaning the garden from the municipal solid waste with the participation of Ulla agricultural Lyceum and Ulla secondary school students;
- Carried out uprooting the old garden and preparing the soil for planting;
- Implementation of erosion control measures and erosion control structures;
- Procured stakes for planting a garden;
- Carried out planting of fruit trees;
- To plant of three-row erosion-protection break lines;
- Place fencing around the perimeter of the garden.
2. Information about project implementation.
Activities will include:
- Held an information seminar for local governments, organizations, agricultural production, interested businesses, local community and media representatives;
-Prepared and published edition of 100 copies. Informational leaflet highlighting the results achieved during the project, and the possibility of replicating the experience gained at other sites of agricultural production;
-Materials about the project and during its implementation will be continuously distributed in the media.
