The project (Capacity Building for Forest Rehabilitation In Urhonigbe Forest Reserve Edo State) seeks to compliment the Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) Project and consolidate the initial Capacity Building for Forest Rehabilitation project in Urhonigbe Forest Reserve. The project was designed to address the issue of degradation of Urhonigbe Forest Reserve, which has happened over time through uncontrolled and unsustainable agricultural practices, unsustainable land management, unsustainable forest resources exploitation and unsustainable animal grazing. The goal of the project is to reduce the level of unsustainable practices and illegal activities in and around the forest Project activities include out planting, regeneration/enrichment planting and maintenance, site protection against fire, encroachers , animal grazing and timber extraction, organize training and awareness rallies on biodiversity conservation and climate change, forest Patrols and monitoring, financial management and resource mobilization, climate change mitigation and Biodiversity Conservation
