The Maroon Community of Marshall kreek aims to develop a sustainable forest management plan for a plot of community forest that is assigned to them. The Stichting Centrum Landbouwkundig Onderzoek Suriname (CELOS) is a well known institute in Suriname, directly linked to the University of Suriname, for their research and ongoing activities in the field of agriculture and agroforestry. CELOS will be the technical institute guiding the local community in this project.
