CONSERVE UGANDA CONSERVING DESERT DATES
Conservation of desert date tree through improved use and commercialization of its products. The specific objectives of the study are to: (i) raise awareness on conservation of the desert date through improved use and management among local communities and other stakeholders (ii) adapt and/or develop appropriate tools for processing and packaging of desert date products (iii) build the capacity of community groups on improved processing, value addition and marketing of desert date products and (iv) to support enforcement and/or development of by-laws or ordinances for sustainable use and management of desert date and other valuable indigenous tree species.
