GOAL
Conserving Gunung Mutis area by strengthening the indigenous people of Tiga Batu Tungku through Ningkam Haumeni principles

OBJECTIVES
Objective 1 : The local wisdom and endemic biodiversity in the area is conserved by strengthening the lopo (round house for kitchen, detached from the main house) and tenun (weaving)
Indicator : 1. Existing model of documenting local wisdom in written and visual related with lopo and tenun tradition.
2. One hectare of land is maintained as the demonstration plot of land conservation that applies local wisdom.
3. Existing exchange-learning process between and among tenun groups and developing tenun products as the alternative economy for three indigenous groups in the are.
4. Conducting Ningkam Haumeni Festival as a space for learning and information sharing between the three indigenous groups of Batu Tungku: Amanatun, Amanuban, and Molo.
Activities : 1. Documenting local wisdom behind the lopo and tenun tradition in the Batu Tungku communities. This endeavor is important to start the programme because it will provide basic information for OAT to understand the extent of cultural threats facing lopo and tenun and what are the future challenges.
2. Conservation and cultivation of local plants lands to strengthen the role of lopo and tenun as the strong points of traditional values. The activity is designed as a movement to conserve land and to protect their functions as water resources, erosion prevention, food plants resources, lopo building, and tenun weaving.
3. Tenun Study Group. The group will facilitate the identification and documentation of history and local knowledge regarding tenun and its development, the cotton planting, development of patterns, and how it can be as diverse as current.
4. Ningkam Haumeni Festival. This annual festival will be the celebration for Molo, Amanuban, and Amanatun to commemorate their struggle and to share it with public that Mutis Mountain is their holy land that they will always protect.
5. Developing tenun to strengthen local economy. Developing tenun into other products is expected able to provide additional income. In this case, it?s not only skills that will be shaped, but also traditional values contained behind the motifs and patterns.
6. Lopo and tenun Learning Center for Tiga Batu Tungku community
The Mutis Mountain, especially the Nausus and Anjaf area, ties the connection between Amanatun, Amanuban, and Molo, the three indigenous groups of Tiga Batu Tungku community.

Objective 2 : Strengthening the indigenous institution to protect the Tiga Batu Tungku customary area
Indicator : 1. Documenting the traditional and cultural regulations both the previous and the new one regarding participatory protection and management system in social, economy, and defense aspect.
2. Implementation of Ume Bubu movement as initiator to strengthen local food in Tiga Batu Tungku community
3. Existing natural protection system that supported by the cultural agreement and legalized among the three groups
Activities : 1. Customary Meeting of Tiga Batu Tungku community. The meeting will collectively discuss and agree the participatory protection and management system in social, economy, and defense aspect.
2. Ume Bubu (small round house for community or family gathering) Movement.
3. Establishing ?Paluel Pah mah Halat? culture and nature protector system. The activity will be one of the efforts that will be done together with the elderlies and youth in Molo to protect them from external threats.

Objective 3 : Strengthening local food sovereignty through agriculture and land conservation
Indicator : 1. The local food knowledge status and management are recorded in three indigenous groups
2. One hectare demonstration plot of Nausus plantation is established for land conservation practices
3. Existing routine meeting processes for woman as a media for learning and information exchange to support food sovereignty
4. Existing network for food security
Activities : 1. Documenting the status and knowledge of local plants. This documentation will be important to understand the history of degrading food sovereignty in the area
2. Land conservation and local food cultivation for local food sovereignty. This activity will reduce the dependency towards chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
3. Woman group for sovereignty. Woman is the main pillar for food sovereignty in Tiga Batu Tungku communities. They were the frontier when Nausus was attacked by mining activities..
4. Building ?Panat Paluil Uismaka? (Respect and Protect Food) network.

EXPECTED OUTPUT

1. Documentation on the process of local wisdom and food-related knowledge in the three indigenous groups
2. Visual documentation to share stories and local wisdom related with weaving between groups
3. Existing product of collaborative tenun made by the groups in three groups
4. Existing tenun product development system in community as alternative livelihood
5. Existing Ningkam Haumeni festival as the place for lessons learned, information exchange, and strengthening communities in Tiga Batu Tungku

Direct : 146 people in tenun group, 320 people in lopo group, and 456 people in food security group
Indirect : All communities in Molo, Amanuban, and Amanatun (670 people consist of 220 women and 450 man)
