TIYESEKO COMMUNITY CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECT
Tiyeseko Five Star Theatre Group (TFSTG) is a community based organization whose purpose is to strengthen community environmental management and promote more wide spread community participation in natural resource management and care for the environment at community level.

TFSTG?s main activities include awareness raising and sensitization and tree planting. Under awareness, the aim is to increase awareness and education on climate change at individual, house hold and community levels, to be achieved through the following approaches:
- Community mobilization and engagement; to capture community concerns and opinion on issues of climate change that eventually form the basis for advocacy and policy inputs. This approach establishes a two way flow of information between local communities and policy makers.
- Dissemination of information (drama presentation / focus group discussion); to disseminate information on climate change at all levels of the community utilizing established links with climate change experts, government, private sector NGO?s and civil society.
- Tree planting; ensure that members of the community take ownership through involving them in identifying planting positions; watering of seedlings and ensuring the planted trees are protected.

2. Project?s main objective
2.1 To increase community awareness and understanding of the need for environmental protection, sustainable natural resource utilization, and management as essential partners in development.

3. Specific Objectives
3.1 Mobilize 15,000 people of Lusaka for climate change awareness by 28/02/2013
3.2 Create awareness to sensitize / educate 15,000 people of Lusaka on the importance and advantage of preserving indigenous trees, public, private and homestead forestry, reducing the use of charcoal and burning of fosil fuels, thereby reducing green house gas emissions that lead to global warming by 28/02/2013.
3.3 Conduct focus group discussions to sensitize / educate 15,000 people of Lusaka to broaden participation and engagement in affected communities, encourage re-use and recycling of scrap paper by 28/02/2013.
3.4 Identify and train 10 women and 5 men of Lusaka on environmental (climate change issues) by 28/02/2013.
3.5 Source and plant 18,000 trees to help in environmental protection and production of fruit products to enhance community quality of life by 28/02/2013.
3.6 Initiate one community tree nursery to produce seedlings for continued supply to communities within the catchment area by 28/02/2013
