Promoting Soil and Water Conservation through the Planting of Fruit Tree Crops on Sloping Lands in Grenada.
This project will "contribute towards the conservation of soil and water resources of Grenada and diversify the income base of small farm holders in rural communities through the establishment of 100 acres of commercial fruit trees on sloping land by 2012". By the end of the project, the slopes will be stablised and the soil protected on 100 small farms. The income stream of small farmers will also be augmented within 5 years. The project will also build the capacity of the grantee to manage projects. As a result of inadequtre funds at the end of OP-4, this project is implemented in two phases, phase 1 for US$21,913 and phase 2 in OP-5 for US$28, 083 to a total of US$49,996.00.
