- A range of information and consulting events, e.g. meetings, which also involved Dubno district council representatives, public hearings and a news conference were held.
- Four workshops were organized on the following topics: ?Alternative Energy Sources?, ?Non-Conventional Energy Sources?, ?Practical Ecology, Or What Everyone Can Do?, and ?Green Self-Governance?.
- Ten subject lessons on energy saving methods and energy conservation importance were held for schoolchildren of pilot schools.
- ?Energy Saving Measures at Educational Institutions? and ?Energy Saving Recommendations? booklets were published.
- A sociology poll ?Awareness on the Opportunities of Energy Saving and Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures in Everyday Life? was conducted among local residents. Following the results an analytic report was presented to local authorities and media.
- A comprehensive environmental audit on energy and heat losses was held in Myrohoshcha village pilot school.
- Energy efficient measures were implemented in the pilot school, namely: the inefficient gas boiler was replaced with two modern peat boilers; the boiler equipment was upgraded and replaced; the lighting system was modernized; the old district heating pipeline was dismantled and a new one installed; new entrance doors were installed in the school, and its lobby repaired; old windows were replaced with energy efficient double glazed windows; the school roofing was repaired; the school building was winterized, and insulation works were performed.
- School energy consumption was reduced, which in turn decreased CO2 emissions.
- Initial energy audit was conducted in eight schools of the district, in particular the villages of Tarakanivka, Smyz, Semidub, Satyiv, Rachyn, Povcha, Kniahynyn, and Varkovychi.
