Discuss the impact of project in the GEF focal area
Under the Gef focal area, the BPC Project remains a trail blazer and first of its kind in the whole southern Nigeria which has drawn the attention of Exxon Mobil, a leading oil company in the region to visit the project site for possible support /collaboration. Furthermore, the Project has made a majority of the Akwa Ibom state people to realized for the first time, that there exist a free ranging population of semi habituated monkeys anywhere in the state.
State the size of land/forest restored and or protected during this project
5.5hectares
Describe (give facts and figures) the outputs on climate change achieved by the project.
Here it is assumed that based simply on the increased number of growing trees in the project area that the project has built habitat resilience thereby mitigating climate change. The mere fact that no logging has occurred neither further encroachment in the watershed, the project has achieved significant climate change amelioration in the area.
Please indicate the number and hectares of PAs that were positively influenced through this project.

a. What measurable change has there been in local incomes and job opportunities? (change in average household income, job creation, revenues, livelihood diversification, livelihood/income diversification, market access etc)
Apart from persons employed by the project and the twelve individuals who benefited from craftsmanship capacity development programme , the project cannot say for sure how many people have had income increased or change in average income because to date no income analysis has been carried out in the project area.
b. Where possible, please provide statistics and numbers that document the change or impact of the project over time.
? Have there been secondary benefits? (Investments in infrastructure, poverty reduction, higher awareness, etc.)
Higher awareness; this is based on the influx of people (schools, foreign tourists and organizations visiting the site to view monkeys. Also, number of requests to visit the project
