Sustainable Livelihood Project
A community intiative to address the threats to the degradation of the forest ecosystem within the Natewa Tunuloa Penninsula and surrounding agricultural landscape. It is an Important Bird Area (IBA) and it supports a unique assemblage.
The immediate threat to this area is the poorly planned and implemented logging practices that has degraded a large proportion of the lowland forest, reducing the extent of suitable habitat for the endemic bird species in the area and so increasing the threat of extinction.
