Bomang'ombe village is located in Hai Ward about 17km from Kilimanjaro International Airport and 30km from Moshi town of the Northern part of Tanzania near Mt. Kilimanjaro. This area is covered with the National electricity grid. This area was covered with a lot of vegetation and its beautiful environment has attracted farmers as well as settlement which has lead to increased harvesting of the forest for fuel wood and timber. Hai Environment Development Association is interested to make a management arrangement for this area to be utilized sustainably.

PROJECT PRIMARY OBJECTIVE;

1. Poverty reduction which is attributed by low income
2. To improve the availability of forest products
3. To introduce tourism activities in Bomang?ombe area

PROJECT ACTIVITIES
1. Raising of 30,000 tree seedlings
2. Digging o 30,000 holes for tree planting
3. Seminar for leaders in Bomang?ombe for tree planting
4. Survey of area for ecotourism
5. Training on construction on cooking stoves

PROJECT BENEFITS:

? Cheap and sustainable supply of fuel wood
? Reduced illegal activities on the natural forest reserve of Mt. Kilimanjaro

FOLLOW UP MECHANISMS;

The communities will provide information of the area for ecotourism activities and identify potential technician in the training of construction of fuel efficient coking stoves
The community will also participate in tree planting
