Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
-Train and involve community in monitoring of giant clams
-Involve community in restocking of giant clams
-Bring community members to MERIP to learn giant clam farming activities
-Each selected farmer will be treated on an individual basis regarding their ability to grow product without technical assistance from MERIP staff.
-MERIP will ensure that individual farmers are properly trained and receive the necessary technical and extension assistance to grow their own products.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Members from MPA communities are locals from Uh, Nett & Madolenihmw municipalities that will be participating through out project implementation.
