Sea Beauty: Marine Turtle Conservation
Sea Beauty: Marine Turtle Conservation
Cruzinha da Garça is one of the important feeding and nursery places for marine turtles, in Cape Verde. Although the local community has been engaged in turtle conservation in the past, much needs to be done in this aspect. Other neighboring communities and other aspects of conservation need to be explored and implemented.
These aspects, which were a bit overlooked during past initiatives, are the involvement of locals in species data gathering, and exploring the eco-tourism site of conservation. In this project, in partnership with government institutions, these two aspects will be explored with the local communities as to enhance marine turtle conservation in Santo Antão Island.
