Development of the White Desert Visitors Center
White Desert protected area is located in New Valley, includes unique biodiversity, receives more than 50000 visitors a year, but in spite of this numbers of visitors no one is access the Visitor Center
Objectives:
- Activating the Visitor Center with the video and audio equipment.
- To promote for the use of public awareness component, such as the visitor center and Publications
- Promote environmental awareness among school students in terms of access to the largest numbers
- Support and strengthen the NGOs to raise the environmental awareness and encourage the participation of local community to preserve the natural resources.
- Collecting and documentation of the knowledge, inherited culture of the community in the Oasis
- Developing a documentary film about the PA includes documentation of the knowledge, inherited culture of the community in the Oasis
- Organizing seminars, workshops, trips and camps
- To clean-up campaigns to the reserve

Notable Community Participation
The NGO also organized several clean up campaigns with the participation of about 100 youth (volunteers) from the local community.
Capacity - Building Component
The project?s activities succeeded in raising environmental awareness among school students in the area and encouraged the participation of youth from the local community to preserve the PA?s natural resources.
The NGO organized 9 awareness seminars with the participation of more than 270 youth in order to involve them in addressing the biodiversity problems facing the PA. It also organized an evironmnetal competition fror school students, with the participation of 50 students, and distributed prizes to the winners.
The project?s activities included several field visits to the PA in which nearly 500 students have participated.
