Capture and Retention of Runoff Water
This project will try to respond to two main challenges Ribeira dos Caibros (Turim zone) is facing. One is loss of agricultural land by erosion, and the other is lack of capacities to retain water when it rains, which also causes erosion.
These two issues play a significant role in the lives of the communities, specifically farmers and the livelihoods of their families. In response to these issues, a dam will be built to capture and retain rain water. 20 farmers will directly benefit from this dam.
