Capacity Building and Income Generation Activities to Promote Improvement in Management and Use of Environmental Resources Through Training and Facilitation, to Ensure the Sustainable Livelihood for Residents in the Lower Belize River Valley Communities
PLANNING GRANT:
1) USES:
? To conduct consultations with village residents including leaders in seven villages of the lower Belize River Valley Area
? Gather, assimilate and analyze data.
? Prepare a project proposal and submit the proposal to GEF SGP for consideration.
2) PROPOSED PLANNING ACTIVITIES: Activities will be conducted by the facilitator (proposal writer) and the Community Baboon Sanctuary Women?s Group (CBS WCG) along with Community Leaders.
? The facilitator and CBS WCG will contact the leaders from seven communities and set up an initial meeting in each village to discuss the project.
? Meet with village council leaders and community leaders in their respective villages to discuss the project goal and objectives and set up schedule for consultative meetings.
? Prepare information booklets, fliers and questionnaires.
? Hold three consecutive consultative meetings with residents and community leaders at the Community Baboon Sanctuary Resource Center (CBSRC). Full participation of residents from all seven villages is expected.
? Prepare the proposal to GEF SGP in the required format utilizing the information gathered at the consultative meetings.
? Facilitate three additional follow-up meetings at the CBSRC to finalize and ratify the proposal before submission.
? Finalize proposal and submit to GEF SGP.
