Marine Turtle Protection in Maio Island
The proposed project contributes to marine turtles conversation in Maio Island, one of the major nesting islands in Cape Verde (Cape Verde is the 3rd loggerhead nesting site in the world, and 2nd in the North Atlantic). This project comprises three main components: i) Awareness & information to local communities for the preservation of species; ii) promotion of ecotourism activities; iii) Supervision and collection of scientific data on major nesting beaches the island
