Improving livelihood and biodiversity conservation of Boeung Mrek community fisheries in Ro Ang commune kompong Siem district Kompong Cham province.
Project is aiming at helping villagers to organize Community Fisheries and to get official recognition from the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries to manage 300 ha of fishing ground and protect 79 ha of flooded forest. In order to conserve some key species of fishes, project will establish two community conservation areas inside Community Fisheries management areas. In addition to that project will introduce fish and bat culture techniques to 150 poor fishers in the target areas to reduce pressure on fisheries resources.
