Project objectives:

2. Enhance ecologically sound planning, management and implementation skills of local community through community empowerment

3. Minimize the negative effects of climate change through participatory natural resource management and environmental conservation practices

Activities to be carried out under project:

? Formation of 2 male/female village committees
? Preparation of 2 participatory natural resource management plans
? Four trainings and capacity building events on climate change and its adaption into policy making
? Ten education and sensitization sessions on climate change with local community, government line agencies and civil society organizations.
? Establishment of 10 community based forest nurseries (containing 8000-10000 plants in each nursery)
? Linear and block plantation of 80,000 plants on 150 acres (60 hectare) of eroded and vulnerable lands
? Provision of kitchen gardening training and inputs to 100 females
? Preparation and distribution of IEC material on and environmental conservation and climate change
? Institutional strengthening and registration of 2 partner organizations
