Climate Change- Averting Disaster
The project aims to develop a 50 minute documentary on understanding Climate Change and its impact on vulnerable Pakistani communities in remote areas.
Activities to be carried out under project:
Research of climate change issues and localized impacts on communities, especially remote mountain communities and natural earth resources.
Project stakeholders and beneficiaries:
The film will be showed to various stakeholders (donors, government, SGP partners) and especially the NGOs that are receiving UNDP GEF SGP funding to combat climate change. The NGOs can then show the film to the local communities. The film will also be aired on national TV networks (both English and Urdu), thus ensuring that a large segment of society will see the documentary and learn the key messages about climate change and its impact on Pakistan in specific. The beneficiaries will be the public who will see the documentary and become aware of climate change issues.
Anticipated output of project:
50 Minute documentary which will have the ability to be dubbed into other local or regional/international languages. An awareness tool to show climate change in simple terms, its effects on Pakistan and especially on the remote communities and people.
