Women in Biodiversity Management and Environment Protection

The project is aiming to Develop knowledge and skills of 5 project target villages women on suitable technologies for sustainable natural resources usage; Exchange experiences and lesson learned from communities, promote endogenous knowledge to ethnicity women, and also promote cooperation between men and women in sociality on environment management and protection; Strengthen for women on local environment management in order to supply development and also sustainable environment conservation; Build capacity of communities as ethnicity women on strategies, programme, projects on natural conservation which relate with sustainable development and activities of local as world environment preservation; Develop and improve the tools for environment preservation to contribute into policy juristic act development for environment management and natural resource conservation

Notable Community Participation

Community from 6 target villages share to the project meanwhile meeting, planning, survey and implemented the activities , each activities local people join much members due to project has strategy appropriate for their basic livelihood even changing behaviors? is much trouble.

Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples

Non-timber and biodiversity in the rural area stay with local people with native, the conservation natural resource issue they are familiar well, even they are lack of technique for preserve and management but they understand natural resource than outsider, so this project make them more realize value of natural resource and well being.

Gender Focus

Project encourage local women to get income by weaving to reduce them access for disturb forest. This project attention to women participant the project about 70% of target group, the gender equality is challenge for the project and their community.

The expenditure of the project was provided to many activities that link to the project aim what can benefit project get obtain planning.

The project support people before implementing activities by trained many course for making people familiarly and firming such as: the prevention and management biodiversity, applying natural resource, awareness for gender equality to community and development an enterprise process

This project will be promoted to outsider by several of project meeting and by the issue of brochure, reference letter of gender equality for protective and management biodiversity.

Project Results

This project conducts and encourages people to preserve natural resource with parallel people?s livelihood development. After project beginning local people understanding and support saving their natural resource, fire burning forest did not appear while now. In general people comprehend and can be analyst what best for their sustainable livelihood. But their challenge right now is the bomb appear and unclear in the protective area.
