According to the long term strategy plan in the 2011-2013, the project very much wishing to scaling up to Med and Xanakham districts, Vientiane province. These district is still high risky in term of shifting cultivation for seasoining up land rice.
According to the resoulted and outcome of the the pilot protection forest project which has been implemented in the year 2010. Reffered to the resulted and outcome which menetioned above we expected that the phase 2 of project (2011) we will scaling up to the two poorest districts in Vientiane province and these areas the villagers is still doing shifting cultivation upland rice for their self-subficiency. Due to two districts they are lack of outsider supporting
Linkages gef projects
After the year 2015, this project will be scaling up to the large gef project in the whole nation and expected impact to 50,000 families 300,000 people with will be get benefitcialy from the large scale gef project
Gender Focus
GDG together with the District Lao Women Union are promoting gender equality and reduction domestic violence. The key activities that GDG is building capacity to District Lao Women Union (DLWU) to be able to facilitate women in the community.
Example: Totally 17 target villages, after completed sucessefuly of group formations were found that women become the chief of group totally 10 groups and men 7 groups and in the year 2010 the project has been trainning to 650 participants on bamboo handicrfats new designed at least 50 designs and women involving 199 people
Project sustainability
Key outcomes for sustainable of the project are:
1. Participation approach
2. The communities were involving since starting of the project activities as well as project has been building their capacities in systematic. After the project phased out then communities could continuing all activities by themseves
3. In term of markeing the project were involved the private sectors and especialy Bamboo Traders Association (BTA) which they could assist and linking market to producer groups
4. Create income generation to women and children

Small Grant Project is still baby pilot project compared to other countries and currently we are focussing to community level and district level in term governance in NRM and bamboo resources sustainable using. And expected that next phase of project we will upscaling to national level to approaching the goverment to see the importance policy support and governance

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The project complies with the SGP-LAO PDR criteria in all aspects: improving environmentally sound management, benefiting local communities and reducing poverty according to the Millinium Master Development Plan of the goverment of Lao PDR
Capacity - Building Component
The project is an illustrative example of a bottom-up developed and designed project carried out and backed by a multi-stakeholder approached dialogue and planning process. In tern of capacity building the project focussing to develop toolkits concerning to the governance in NRM and pilot testing in the two different levels as community and district level at the same time we were involved to building capatity of private sector too,
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The project will resulted in the development and implementation of sustainable bamboo management plans in Sangthong district that direct beneficially to community about 900 households in 17 communities. The management plans will seek to ensure ongoing income generation through bamboo processing and increase income by improving product quality (handicrafts) and access to new markets as well as sustainable bamboo production forest.
According to the latest monitoring and evaluation in December 2010 were found that increasing income to community 36 % compared to based line survey before started proejct
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
This pilot project is very high impact due to we have many donnors to co-funding support. To ensure in term of transparency and accountabily to all activities which have been done we have to participatory set up action plan as well as budget allowcation and then we did quartely monitoring and evaluation and we have external auditor to inspection

the project wishing to promote idigenous people by nmetwork and share lessons learnt amoung communities by peer to peer study
Project Results
The resulted of pilot protection forest project in Sangthong distrcit, Vientiane Capital City in the year 2010 could be summary following are:
1. Completed sucessefully NTFP (bamboo) inventory and management plan in 523 h, in one village cluster and totally 4 villages the named are: Ban Napo, Ban Kouay, Ban Xord and Ban Wangmar. The communal land titling covered 2,107.65 ha
2. The communities aware the principle of sustainable haresting resources 299 persons and women 183 persons
3. In the year 2010, increasing villagers income 36% (400,000 million kip or equaly $ 50,000) commpared to based line survey before starting project and develop 20 bamboo new products designed and improving 25 existing products to meet local markets demand
4. Develop toolkits for suatainable bamboo harvesting resources and govenance in NRM field maunal and develop gender equality ToT field manual
5. Created products, income and employment in totally 900 jobs
6. Prolicy advocacy in district level: information sharing, education and communication
7. After one year implementation of project activities were found that 20 families are stopping slash-burn for upland rice cultivation
