This proposed project aims to raise awareness and promote the conservation and sustainable use of agro-biodiversity and plant varieties important to agriculture and food. The availability of plant diversity would enable farmers to better manage uncertainties, to spread the risks of production, and to sustain livelihood. Existence of diversity would also satisfy the diverse demand by consumers and provide nutritious food for them. Among the activities proposed to be carried out are awareness raising, capacity building trainings, public outreach and setting up of plant nurseries.
