Rain-water Harvest in Ma’la Plateau, Qalancia, Socotra

The project aimed at securing water supply for local community and their animals in Ma'la plateau. This is going to acheive the building of 22 tanks for rain water harvest during the rainy season. This water is going to be used for domestic use by human and animals. The total capacity is 3713 cubic meters. In addition, the project will help raise awarenss of the local community about climate change and effort towards adapting with their impact.

Building water harvest tanks is sustainable activity since people livelihood depends on. The tank will be filled with water each rainy season.

Project Results

1. A Twenty Two water harvest tanks will be built with total capacity of 3713 cubic meters.
2. A total of 166 families (1112 inhabitants) are benefited with their animals (estimated 15,000 goats, 80 camels and 180 cattle).
