Uplifting the living conditions of the war displaced families through organic agriculture by Manawa Sampath Kendraya
Government has started the resettlement process of internally displaced people. As a result, 350 families are resettled in Awantharawa, Palleuruwa, and Track7 villages of Vavuniya district. And also there are 2370 people in the rehabilitation camps of Pompemadu and Puntottam. This proposes to use organic agriculture as a way of uplifting their living conditions and livelihood development. Activities of developing organic agriculture in 6 acres land attached to Pompemadu and Puntottam rehabilitation centers, and 525 acres land belong to Track seven, Avanthurawa, and Palleuruwa villages, to establish a seed production and training center.
