* 550 kg of seeds collected from previously wasted natural resource base (429Kg in quarter 1 and 121 kg in quarter 2).Over 1 million francs CFA income already generated from trade in Jatropha seeds by the beneficiary community;

* 2 Training sessions on nursery raising including orientation on project activities were held. About 335 indirect trainees educated by their peers (who attend the training): 20% of the farmers were women and 80% of the farmers were men.

* Training on planting and on farm management were carried with at least 100 participants acquire know-how on Jatropha nursing, planting and maintenance through Partnership with other stakeholders.

* 18 nurseries created in Ndop and kumbo (the project implementation sites) with 200.700 plant seedlings produced. 140,700 jatropha seedlings were distributed to beneficiary community members.

* 140,700 Jatropha seedlings were planted on marginal land and farm boundaries. About 200 households took part in planting jatropha seedlings.

* Work tools and material (60 bags of organic manure, 14 watering cans, 50 spades, 16 hoes and 40 cutlasses were bought and distributed to Beneficiaries to ensure continous nursery prodcution of jatropha and on-farm maintenance;

* In collaboration with other two expert organisations (FAP and DDENP) 2 group workshops and several field demonstrations were done in the two project zones (Kumbo and Ndop) to train over 100 community trainers on jatropha raising and maintenance (who will in turn extend the training to their peers)

* 3 Jatropha presses were fabricated (1 hydraulic press and 2 mechanic presses), in a trainers training workshop which saw the presence of over 20 local technicians (youth).

*The presses have helped the beneficiary population to extract some 40 litres of jatropha oil from the collected seeds, which is used for production of soap and local lighting systems, with no emissions.

* Some 30 simple Jatropha lamps were constructed as demonstration during workshops for Energy security benefits. Most households (over 100) now already use jatropha oil lamps as regular standby energy backup to regular electricity cuts by the national corporation (AES-SONEL). The smell from Jatropha lamp could repel insects like mosquitoes.

* 200 families empowered to produce both powdered and solid Jatropha soap have already produced and sold over 75kg of soap made from jatropha oil.

* The jatropha seed cake, which remains after the oil has been pressed from the seeds, was introduced as organic manure in farms of 15 farmers for bio-fertilisation of maize and cocoyams.

* A manual on jatropha nursery raising and maintenance as well as jatropha derivatives has been produced in document form, to easy transfer of the technology to other communities and younger generations.
