Cooperation Between Public and Private Sector in Medicinal Plant
Ecological Threat :

Bargas Sub-district is located in the slope of Mt. Ungaran, Semarang District, 20 km south from Semarang City. At the upper area, Bargas sub-district is part of natural forest and community forest riched in biodiversity. From industrial side, the existence of natural resource is not well-utilized by the community lived in Bargas area. For example, medicinal plant garden is still unaccessable to the community. Moreover, some species such as Sea Jujube, Terminalia Arborea, and Nogosari are relatively difficult to cultivate and now facing the threat due to the lack of cultivation area.

Project Development Goal:
To develop scarce medicinal plant and sustainable utilization

Project Development Objective:
Existed cooperation between public and private sector in developing and utilizing medicinal plant

Expected Outputs:
1. Existed documentation on species, peculiarity, and cultivation aspect of medicinal plant
2. Increased community and government capacity in medicinal plant conservation and cultivation aspects
3. Identified variety of public and private sector cooperation in biodiversity conservation

Activities to be Conducted:
1. Exploring scarce medicinal plant;
2. Conducting research on cultivation aspect;
3. Conductiong workshop on utilization of scarce medicinal plant;
4. Conducting cultivation training and technical assistance;
5. Establishing demonstration plot;
6. Conducting workshop on public and private sector cooperation;
7. Conducting seminar and dissemination
